San Diego Padres Rickroll Boston Red Sox Fans at Petco Park

Boston Red Sox fans are everywhere - and they love showing up to games when the team is in town, a fact that was not lost on the San Diego Padres during their series with the Sox over the weekend.

So, it was a bit of a surprise when during the eighth inning, the Padres production team at Petco Park 'welcomed' Red Sox fans by flashing a message they would be playing a "Padres Karoke" and inviting fans to sing along as they played Neil Diamond's 'Sweet Caroline' - a tune that's played at every Red Sox home game during the eighth inning.

However, just as the chorus was about to pick up and fans were getting ready to sing and tell the world they're feeling "So Good! So Good! So Good!" they were interrupted by the internet meme that just won't die with one of the better uses of the rickroll in recent memory.

Red Sox fans could be heard laughing as Rick Astley belted out his 1980's hit, "Never Gonna Give You Up," which has found a second life on the internet as an internet meme meant to confuse people who thought they were clicking on another, unrelated video.

Perhaps propelled by the rickroll, the San Diego Padres went on to win Sunday's game, 3-1, avoiding a sweep by the Sox.
