Congressman Bill Keating's office says there is money being set aside for the design of new structures to replace the Bourne and Sagamore bridges. Keating says the five-million-dollar amendment was passed by the House on Tuesday to be included in an appropriations bill. The money is specifically for bridges that serve as federally-designated escaperoutes. Earlier this year, Keating helped to pass the EScapeAct, which designates one-billion dollars to strengthen those routes.
