Fuel Rods To Be Removed From Pilgrim Nuclear Plant

Starting tomorrow, it will take about ten days for the spent fuel rods at the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station to be removed.  

Officials report there were no issues in the decommissioning of the Plymouth facility. NRC officials aren’t commenting on ownership of the decommissioned facility either.

Entergy, the current owner maintains it would be fully decommissioned until 2079. Holtec Corporation says they can do it in just short of 9 years.
