Barnstable State Rep Tim Whelan says a case involving a 17-year-old in Oxford who allegedly shot a 15-year-old and was out on bail in less than a day is leaving him with a bad taste.
The State Rep says under current law, Clerk of Courts are not allowed to consider the potential dangerousness of a person in setting bail.
He is calling for passage of the Governor’s Bill which would change that and in his words “repair other dangers” in the system.
