Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe One Step Closer To Federal Recognition

The U.S. House is giving approval to a bill that would provide federal recognition to the Mashpee Wampanoag tribe.

The House vote came days after President Trump tweeted opposition to the measure.

The tribe has been seeking recognition as part of its plans to place a casino in Taunton. The bill now moves to the Senate.
