Harbor Dredging, Tidal Flats Purchase On Wellfleet Election Agenda

Wellfleet's town election is today. Items that have been approved at town meeting will need another round of approval, including a seven-and-a-half-million-dollar debt exclusion to pay for dredging parts of Wellfleet Harbor and two-million dollars for the purchase of more than two-hundred acres of tidal flats and a beach. There are no contested races for the select board. Long-time board member Jerry Houk will be replaced as he has decided not to run for another term after nearly 25 years of service. Houk will be replaced by shellfisherman Michael DeVasto.
