Yarmouth Man Crashes SUV on Florida Beach Injuring Several Children

A Yarmouth man has been ticketed in Florida after the SUV he was driving crashed through a wooden barrier that separates a parking lot from a beach and hit four children who were on that beach.

A member of the Florida Highway Patrol says the children and their parents were getting ready to leave the beach when 82-year old William Johnson got in his SUV and attempted to make a U-turn. Johnson drifted onto the shoulder and then careened through the parking lot, crashing through the barrier before dropping about twenty feet to the beach.

Johnson and three of the children were taken to a nearby hospital. One of the children suffered traumatic injuries and was taken by MedFlight to another hospital. Johnson was ticketed for careless driving.
