The Massachusetts Board of Higher Education on Tuesday approved Cape Cod Community College to offer an Associate Degree in Funeral Service entirely on the campus of Bridgewater State University. This announcement comes less than a year after 4Cs picked up Funeral Service students that were displaced from Mount Ida College with no way to complete their degrees.
Cape Cod CC is now the only state college to offer a degree in Funeral Service and students do not have to travel all the way to the Cape to take courses. Students will take all of their classes at BSU and will have access to on-site housing, as well as all BSU amenities. Being centrally located at BSU also allows for more prospective students to attend, which was critically important as this grew out of the now defunct Mount Ida College program.
