Yarmouth Retired K-Nero To Lead St. Patrick's Parade March 9th

St.Patrick’s Parade/Nero

3/1/19

When the 14th Annual St. Patrick’s Parade steps out in South Yarmouth on Saturday, March 9th, the Grand Marshall, retired Yarmouth Police K-9 Officer Peter McClelland, will be proudly leading the parade with retired Police K-9 Nero at his side.

Nero was critically wounded in April 2018 when his partner, K-9 Sgt. Sean Gannon was shot and killed while attempting to serve a warrant.

McClelland originally trained Nero and stayed with him throughout the many surgeries to save the K-9’s life and his rehabilitation.

The parade is dedicated to Yarmouth K-9 Sgt. Gannon with the theme “The Spirit of the Community.”

Last March, 32 year old Sgt. Gannon and Nero walked the parade route side by side on March 10th; 4 weeks later Gannon was murdered.

The St. Patrick’s Parade begins at 11 A.M. in South Yarmouth and proceeds West on route 28 to the Town and Country Motor Lodge.
