Harwich Man Guilty of Rape, Sentenced to Prison

A Harwich man has been sentenced to 5 to 6 years in state prison after a Barnstable County jury found him guilty of rape and misleading a police investigation.

In a statement from the Cape and Islands District Attorney’s Office, 28-year old David Condon received the prison sentence for the rape conviction and three years probation on the charge of misleading the investigation.

The conviction stems from an incident that occurred at a residence in Harwich on January 24, 2017.

The victim, defendant, and a third party were socializing and consuming alcohol. The victim lost consciousness and awoke to the defendant having sex with her, to which she never consented.

During an interview with the Harwich Police, the defendant provided investigators with a false address.

The case was investigated by the Harwich Police Department and prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Michael Patterson.
