Provincetown Voters Okay Sewer Upgrade, Land Buys

Voter in Provincetown said ‘yes’ to a $6 million dollar sewer expansion and two Land Bank purchases at a special Town Meeting on Monday night.

Officials will seek a federal grant of $2 million and borrow the remaining $4 million for the project which is expected to increase the town’s wastewater capacity by 15% or 155,000 gallons a day.

 Voters also approved spending $1 million for a 5-acre parcel of land near Bradford Street, known as the Dwyer property, to preserve the land as green space and $1.4 million for a parcel of land along Commercial Street that will be turned into a park.
