Plan in Works to Expand Woods Hole Historic District

The Falmouth Historical Commission is recommending the Woods Hole historic district be extended west of the Water Street Drawbridge.

The Falmouth Enterprise reports the recommendation follows the Cape Cod Commission’s Woods Hole Historic District Planning Study.

The Chairman of the historical commission, Edward Haddad, is recommending extending the historic district from the drawbridge to MBL Street, saying the area is the heart of Woods Hole.

Approval from the Massachusetts Historical Commission and at Town Meeting would be needed to extend the historic district, a process that Haddad says could take up to two years.
