Last week, the Cape Flyer released its ridership numbers for the season, reflecting the sixth consecutive year of increased usage.
Now, the Steamship Authority says it was a record-setting season for the ferry service as well.
The SSA says a record number of passenger vehicles and trucks used the ferry company from June through August.
Despite a marked increase in mechanical problems SSA vessels have encountered, passenger traffic on the Martha’s Vineyard route is the third busiest for the year-to-date while the Nantucket route is enjoying its fifth best season.
