Yarmouth Department of Natural Resources officers, on Wednesday, came to the aid of two kayakers in distress in Lewis Bay.
The 911 call came in around 7 p.m. and a DNR Patrol Boat was dispatched to the area. The arriving officer came upon two males in the water clinging to their kayaks, one of which was completely submerged.
The DNR officer, after taking a closer look at the depth of the water, suggested they try to stand. Turns out they were able to just touch the bottom. The officer then suggested they make their way to shore as he stayed by their side on the way in.
