HAC, POAH to Offer Affordable Townhomes in Bourne

Housing Assistance Corporation (HAC) and the Preservation Of Affordable Housing (POAH) have applications available for 44 affordable townhomes the two agencies are building in Bourne.

Known as High Meadow, the development represents the third and final phase of a project that includes 73 additional units that were built as part of Canal Bluffs and Clay Pond Cove.

The 44 new apartments being constructed at High Meadow are a mixture of 2- and 3- bedroom townhomes and are for those making 30 percent of the Area Median Income (AMI) for Barnstable County; 60% of AMI; and 75% of AMI. Preference for the seven units for those earning 30% AMI is given to homeless applicants; these units come with Section 8 Project Based Subsidies.

High Meadow offers ample off-street parking, central laundry, on-site management provided by POAH, and 24-hour emergency maintenance.

Applications are currently available online at www.haconcapecod.org; at HAC’s office at 460 West Main Street in Hyannis; Bourne Town Hall at 24 Perry Avenue in Buzzards Bay; Jonathan Bourne Public Library at 19 Sandwich Road in Bourne; and Clay Pond Cove at 101 Harmony Hill Road in Bourne.

HAC’s Cape Community Real Estate department is conducting the lottery to create the list of eligible tenants. Once the list is created, POAH will oversee the tenant selection process.
