Bourne Police say a child has been seriously injured at the Buzzards Bay water park.
A 2-year-old girl was on a slide at a splash pad at the park on Tuesday afternoon when she was injured. Police say the injury was to a lower extremity, but they have not released further details.
The child was taken to a Rhode Island hospital for treatment.
The new playground and splash pad recently opened to the public on May 25.
Bourne Town Administrator Thomas Guerino says the playground will be closed until officials determine what happened.
