Golf Tourney Nets $60K for Big Brothers, Big Sisters

The June 11th Golf For Kids tournament, held at the Pocasset Golf Club, raised more than $60,000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cape Cod & the Islands.

Founded in 2002 by Rick Coville Jr., the tournament has grown significantly since raising $12,000 during the inaugural event.

This year’s tournament winners were Eddie Harper, Matt Hill, Connor Murphy, and Golf For Kids Committee member, Jim Teneglia.

Over its 18 year history, Golf For Kids has raised nearly $1 million in support of the children served by Big Brothers Big Sisters here on Cape Cod and the Islands.

“Fundraisers like this tournament are critical to helping us to serve more kids on the Cape & Islands”, said JR Mell, Regional Director of BBBS of Cape Cod and the Islands. “This year’s funds help to ensure we continue to reach our goals of increasing our service to youth who could benefit from having an additional positive role model in their lives.”
