CCBL Dedicates Season to Slain Sgt. Sean Gannon

The Cape Cod Baseball League has announced that the upcoming season has been dedicated to the memory of slain Yarmouth K9 Sgt. Sean Gannon.

The announcement came at the season kickoff brunch at the 99 Restaurant in West Yarmouth.

A commemorative pin will be worn on the caps of all CCBL players. League Commissioner Paul Galop says more than 5,000 such pins were purchased and will be sold with the proceeds donated to the Yarmouth Police Foundation.

In addition, on July 8, at Red Wilson Field in South Yarmouth the Yarmouth Dennis Red Sox will host Sgt. Sean Gannon Night. The YD Red Sox will wear special “Gannon” game jerseys that night.

Commissioner Galop and League President Chuck Sturtevant presented Yarmouth Police Chief Frank Frederickson with the first Sgt. Gannon pin.
