The Army Corps of Engineers reports that the work on the Sagamore Bridge is now 60% complete and the contractor is ahead of schedule.
The Corps says the first two phases of the work have been completed and work on the third and final phase began on Sunday. For safety reasons there is no access to the sidewalk to cross the bridge during this final phase. Pedestrians and bicyclists who normally use the bridge sidewalk are advised to seek alternate means of crossing the Sagamore.
The Corps says motorists can stay up-to-date on the work via email alerts by sending an email to CapeCodCanalBridges@usace.army.mil with the subject title “Bridge Work Alerts.”
Additionally, updates are available from the Army Corps’ New England District via Facebook and Twitter.
