Governor On Cape for Blizzard Recovery Talks

Governor Charlie Baker was on the Cape Wednesday, meeting with local lawmakers, utility officials, and first responders in a roundtable discussion on the spate of winter storms that have hammered Cape Cod and the Islands over the past two weeks, resulting in power outages numbering in the hundreds of thousands.

Baker, Secretary of Energy and Environmental Affairs, Matthew Beaton, and the entire Cape legislative delegation along with Barnstable County Commissioner Chairman, Leo Cakounes, all agreed that a major upgrade of the area’s utility infrastructure was something that needs to be looked at.
