It is the calm after the storm for the Cape and Islands.
The first major storm of the winter season brought hurricane-force winds, near historic high tides, and coastal flooding in a number of towns on the Cape and Islands. However, this morning, with the storm well off the New England coast and tides receding, only small pockets of flooding remain.
In Chatham, the area of Bridge Street to Morris Island Road remains flooded with crews and a police detail on the scene.
In Provincetown, the flooding along Commercial Street has subsided although there is still some flooding on Court Street which runs off of Commercial.
