Falmouth Drug Investigation Results In 2 Arrests


Falmouth Police arrested two men following a narcotics investigation in that town.

Falmouth police, with assistance from the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office and the Cape Cod Drug Task Force, served a search warrant on a camper located at the Sippewissett Campground shortly after 12:30 on Tuesday afternoon. The suspects and targets of the investigation attempted to flee in a car but struck an unmarked police car in the process.

Arrested and taken into custody was the operator of the car, Todd Lopes, 29, of Falmouth. He was charged with Assault & Battery with a Dangerous Weapon – car, Operating to Endanger, Failing to Stop for Police, and Conspiracy to Violate the Drug Laws.

A search of the camper and property uncovered 58 grams of heroin, $10,500 in cash, and more than two pounds of marijuana, including marijuana edibles.

Police also arrested Andrew Weldon, 28, of New Bedford. He was charged with Trafficking Heroin-subsequent offense, Possession of Marijuana with intent to Distribut – subsequent offense, and Conspiracy to Violate the Drug Laws.
