Massachusetts State Treasurer Deb Goldberg today (on Tuesday) announced that Cape Cod will serve as the kick-off location for year two of the Women’s Economic Empowerment Series.
The initiative is a free program that focuses on wage negotiation, money management, retirement, and investment strategies for women. The first round of the series will be held at the Gus Canty Community Center in Falmouth on October 3 and 10.
Goldberg says Cape Cod was chosen as part of a statewide expansion to bring economic security workshops to women throughout Massachusetts.
The Women’s Economic Empowerment Workshop is launched in collaboration with Citizens Bank.
“Women face unique challenges when it comes to financial security,” said Treasurer Deb Goldberg. “This program will continue to provide critical information that will give women the skills they need to be successful in today’s economy.”
On day one, Treasurer Goldberg created the Office of Economic Empowerment (OEE), led by a deputy treasurer, with the deliberate goal of implementing a range of economic empowerment initiatives that include closing the gender wage gap, increasing access to financial education, improving college affordability, and investing in STEM careers and education.
