Police: Kennedy, Daughter Incited Crowd at Arrest

More information has been released regarding the arrest Sunday night of Matthew “Max” Kennedy and his daughter, 22-year old Caroline Kennedy.

Barnstable Police say when officers arrived at their home in Hyannis Port over complaints of excessive noise and fireworks, Kennedy screamed incoherently and threw himself into a wall. Police say the actions of both Kennedy and his daughter incited the partygoers into “an angry mob.” Police say people yelled, “you don’t know who you are messing with,” as Kennedy was being arrested.

Matthew Kennedy pleaded not guilty to two misdemeanor charges of disturbing the peace at Monday’s arraignment. Caroline Kennedy will be arraigned on November 22.

Matthew Kennedy is the ninth child of Robert and Ethel Kennedy.
