Falmouth Police continue investigating the cause of Wednesday night’s fatal car crash on Ostrom Road.
Falmouth Police and Fire officials, as well as members of the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office, arrived at the scene of the accident just after 9 p.m. They found an SUV have driven head-on into a tree. The driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver has been identified as Adam Colter, 54, of Mashpee.
A preliminary investigation determined that Colter was traveling north-easterly on Ostrom Road when Colter failed to negotiate a curve, driving off the road into the tree.
The investigation into the cause of the accident continues.
