There was an emergency landing at Barnstable Municipal Airport Wednesday night.

Just before 6 p.m. a Cape Air Cessna 402 with five passengers on board reported smoke in the cockpit. The plane had departed Boston for Nantucket but declared an emergency and was cleared to land in Hyannis.

The plane landed without incident and the five passengers along with the pilot and one crew member were uninjured.

Cape Air technicians are examining the Cessna to determine what caused the smoke issue.
