The Cape Cod Commission has finalized a report calling for a major re-working of a section of Route 28 in Cotuit.
That section is the area of the Route 130 intersection and the Santuit-Newtown Road intersection.
The report calls for moving the Route 130 intersection west towards Mashpee and making the intersection of Route 28 and Santuit-Newtown Road a rotary.
Adding to the congestion of that area is Main Street, which is just east of Route 130 and motorists don’t have the luxury of a stop light to get onto Route 28.
Because Route 28 is a state road, the Cape Cod Commission will seek funding for the project from the Massachusetts Department of Transportation.
