Truro Conservation Trust this week announced that efforts to acquire a church property were boosted by an anonymous donor.
The trust has been working to purchase the Chapel on the Pond site, where a largely Jamaican congregation has worshiped since 2017.
The property on Pond Road is set to be listed in April.
Trust Chair Fred Gaechter announced that a donor has put up 500-thousand dollars toward the purchase, and will pledge to match donations up to another 500-thousand.
