Wellfleet's three liquor stores have begun offering a ten-cent rebate to anyone who returns empty "nip" bottles.
The owners of the stores have decided to make the offer, in the wake of an effort to ban the single-serve bottles, which was voted down at a town meeting last year.
The main reason for the ban was to forestall litter and potential environmental damage.
Two bills are being proposed before the state House and Senate to expand the current bottle bill for these products.
