Rep Peake To Retire From Legislature At Session's End

State Representative Sarah Peake has announced she will not seek re-election this year.

The Provincetown Democrat was first elected to office in 2007 and will have served the Fourth Barnstable district for nine terms.

She rose to become the head of the Cape Cod delegation and is the second assistant majority leader in the House.

The Dean Of The Cape Cod delegation says she is thankful for the opportunity to serve voters in Boston but will be glad to be able to control her own schedule soon.

Among Peake's accomplishments was helping to create the Cape Cod and Islands Water Protection Fund. Her term ends December 31st.
