SSA: Hybrid Vesels Part Of Upgrade

The Steamship Authority plans to upgrade its fleet with a new hybrid vessel.

At a meeting on Tuesday, the SSA board unanimously approved the capital projects budget for this year.

Part of the document includes money for the engineering and design of the vessel.

The decision follows calls from port communities and Island residents to cut back on emissions.
