Cape To Share In Monies For Infrastructure

Cape and Islands communities will receive a share of 100 million dollars in state funding to repair and renovate transportation infrastructure.

Among the towns that will partake of the 5-point-5 million dollars allotted to the region, Barnstable will receive just over 1 million dollars.

Yarmouth will get approximately 458-thousand dollars.

The funding comes through the "Fair Share Amendment," which voters approved in 2022.

This places a 4 percent surtax on annual income above 1 million dollars and is directed to public services, including infrastructure and education.

The Fair Share allotments for 2024 are available at Mass dot gov.
