State Budget Cuts To Take Toll On Local Programs

Governor Maura Healey is expected to announce major spending cuts today in response to projected drops in state revenue.

The governor has reportedly informed legislative leaders of the need to cut 375-million-dollars in spending.

The cuts are expected to impact local earmarks and other state funded programs.

Healey announced last week that tax collections by the state are currently trending 769-million-dollars below budgeted projections.
