More Testing Needed For Vineyard Wind Project

The Vineyard Wind project has begun generating power but missed its delivery deadline to the grid.

A spokesperson for Avengrid, part-owner of Vineyard Wind said while the five operable turbines worked as planned Sunday evening, more testing is required.

There is no set date for when power will be received.

The project, which will require 62 turbines in all, will deliver 806 megawatts of electricity when it is fully operational.
