Truro Town Meeting Postponed Again

The ongoing issue of challenges to voter registration has prompted Truro officials to postpone a special town meeting for a second time.

Two appeals have been filed following a decision by the Board of Registrars to remove twelve names from the voter rolls.

Sixty-six names were challenged last month; since the board began its hearing, 23 people took their names off voluntarily.

Two appeals have since been filed.

The issue came about when members of a part-time resident's taxpayer group were urged to change their registration to Truro in order to vote at the initial meeting on October 21st.

The meeting, which was rescheduled to this evening, will now be held on Monday, November 28th at the Truro Central School.
