Vineyard Plane Crashes In New York

A plane that took off from Martha's Vineyard crashed in New York on Friday. 

The Piper aircraft was reportedly on its way to Montauk when it experienced engine trouble and crashed just prior to the runway of the airport on Fishers Island. 

The Vineyard Gazette reports the plane was based out of Rhode Island. 

The pilot and two passengers aboard were uninjured. 

The FAA is investigating.
