Train Accident Claims Life Of Man In Wareham

A Boston man who was fishing near railroad tracks in Wareham has died after he was struck by a freight train.

Police say Christopher Cater of Dorchester was on the Narrows Crossing railroad bridge on Thursday morning when he was hit by a train hauling trash to Cape Cod.

The victim was thrown into the water, and he later died at the hospital.

The train operator reported that the horn was blown repeatedly before Cater was struck.

Police have called it a tragic accident.
