High School Runner Barred From Final Meet Because Of Error

The MIAA, the group that oversees high school sports in Massachusetts is not backing down.

A high school senior Rhiannon Vos of Monomoy High School in Harwich was ready to run in the state championships last night, but was unable to do so through no doing of her own.

When times from a previous district meet were entered into the MIAA says --a wrong time was inadvertently inputed.

And that mistake disqualified the 18 year old from the finals.

School officials admitted to the mistake and are heart broken that Vos's high school running career ended early.

Even a last ditch effort by Barnstable State Rep Steven Xiarhos could pave the way for her last high school run.

Vos says she hopes it never happens to another kid.

The MIAA has not commented.
