Chatham Adopts New Short Term Rental Rules

New regulations to short-term rental properties are being adopted in Chatham.

The rental owners must obtain a registration certificate from the town beginning on July 1st and pay a 50-dollar annual fee.

The chair of the Chatham Health Board told the Cape Cod Chronicle the new rules do not limit the number of short-term rentals that can exist.

They do include occupancy limits based on septic system capacity and the requirement that a designated agent is available to respond to emergencies.
