Memorial Honors Those Who Died On USS Thresher

A memorial service was held this weekend to observe the 60-year anniversary of a Navy submarine that sank off the Cape Cod coast.

The U.S.S. Thresher never resurfaced after it participated in a deep-dive test about two-hundred miles off the Cape on April 10th, 1963.

Saturday's memorial was held in Kittery, Maine, the home of the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard where the sub was built.

New Hampshire Senator Jeanne Shaheen honored the 129 men who died and said their legacy of service and devotion to duty is an inspiration.
