Smith And Wesson Moves Headquarters Out Of State

Gun maker Smith and Wesson is moving its world headquarters from Massachusetts to Tennessee.

Smith and Wesson has been based in Springfield since it was formed in 1852.

The company says the move is largely because of proposals in the Massachusetts legislature that would not allow them to make certain firearms in the state.

The company will maintain a presence in Springfield with over a thousand employees, and the headquarters property will be reconfigured.
