Local Organizations Awarded Grants To Combat Oil Spills

Several local organizations are being awarded grants from the state that will be used to protect the coast from oil spills, the Baker administration announced Tuesday.

The New England Wildlife Center in Barnstable, and the towns of Marion, Scituate and Plymouth are among nine recipients of the grants which total a combined $214,000.  

The funds will be used for projects like removing old storage tanks and training for cleaning wildlife affected by oil spills.
