Court Says Baker Did Not Exceed Authority In Covid-19 Executive Orders

The Massachusetts Supreme Judicial court says Governor Charlie Baker did not exceed his authority by issuing Coronavirus pandemic-related executive orders.

Some business owners and religious leaders sued the governor claiming he used the civil defense act incorrectly to impose shutdown mandates.

The court has ruled Baker has the authority to issue emergency orders and that no constitutional rights were violated.
