The latest town by town report is out from the State Labor Department.
The March report isn’t as bad as expected because many of the layoffs from the Coronavirus crisis came after the month was closed.
Barnstable comes in at 5.5%. Bourne 4.9%. Brewster 5.5%. Falmouth 5.3% Provincetown 19.2%.
Statewide the unemployment rate was 2.9% but again most of the layoffs came after the March reporting period closed.
