Cape And Islands DA Pleased With Upton Conviction Being Upheld

The Cape and Islands DA Michael O’Keefe says he is pleased with the State Supreme Court upholding the first degree murder conviction of Robert Upton.

The 56 year old man was convicted of the 2009 killing of 47 year old Aris Manoloules.

Prosecutors said Robert Upton was having financial difficulty, and Upton's sister's husband Treefon Manoloules offered him $165,000 to kill Aris Manoloules, Treefon’s brother.

Prosecutors say Upton was living a double life that included a family and a girlfriend.

Upton is serving life in prison without the possibility of parole.
