Barnstable Convenience Stores Barred From Selling Flavored Tobacco

Ten days from now all Barnstable Convenience Stores must stop selling flavored tobaccos. A State Judge has refused to delay implementation.

Barnstable officials voted last year to allow the sales of the tobacco to stores that cater only to adults over the age of 21.

The Judge ruled that since the Board of Health issued rulings in good faith they must be held as valid.

The Judge also ruled that if the case were to go to trial they would likely prevail. The judge says that the chief argument of the stores that they would lose money was at best a look into the future.
