We are still waiting on what the fed is going to do with recreational pot in this state and it may all come to a head in Nantucket.
The Cannabis Control Commission last week gave its approval to The Green Lady’s opening. That could be as early as next month.
But in order to get to Nantucket you would have to cross federal waters or airspace. Marijuana is still illegal on the federal level.
US Attorney Andrew Lelling has told reporters in the past that he would not give anyone in the state a free pass on the issue but he also said that he needs to use limited resources on combating the opioid crisis.
He has not commented specifically on the Nantucket issue.
