Cape PDs and FDs Help Coast Guard Members

The Cape Police Chiefs Association and the Cape Cod Fire Chiefs Association are backing a program to help out members of the Coast Guard and their families who have been financially affected by the partial government shutdown, now a month old.

The program is called Cards for Guards, and police and fire stations from Bourne to Provincetown are accepting gift cards of $20 or less from now until Monday, January 28. The gift cards can be for gas, Stop N Shop, Walmart, Market Basket, CVS, Walgreens, or other businesses that could help a family missing out on a paycheck because of the shutdown.

Gift cards can be dropped off at your local police or fire station.
