The Buzzards Bay Coalition has been awarded a $420,000 grant to expand wastewater treatment to upper Buzzards Bay watershed communities.
The project would expand wastewater treatment in Bourne, Wareham, Plymouth and Marion.
The Southeast New England Program Watershed Grant will be used to reduce tens of thousands of pounds of nitrogen every year.
Wastewater, especially from home septic systems, is the largest source of nitrogen pollution to the bay.
