FEMA Funds Provincetown Projects

FEMA, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, has earmarked almost $3.5 million in grant funding to Provincetown to help pay for repairs to MacMillian Pier in addition to a long-term coastal resiliency project.

The overall price tag of the pier project is pegged at $4.5 million and the work is to repair damage caused in 2013 and 2015 plus construct a wave attenuator, an apparatus placed in the harbor designed to keep storm waves or surge from crashing into the pier.

The project is expected to go out to bid this year with construction to begin next year.
